We optimized for the shortest ingredient list that still does the job: unscented cleanser, unscented ointment, a basin you could hand down. We refused fragrance as a design feature, which rules out most of what a drugstore shelf calls "baby-scented." The one compromise: from six months on, Florida sun means real sunscreen, and we chose a mineral formula over a fragrance-free promise on a chemical one.
